We ask for the privileges guaranteed to all free sitizens of the and of this , to be extended to us: we may be permitted to settle and live where we please, and worship God according to the dictates of our own consciences, with out molestation;— And whilst we ask for ourselves this privilege, we are willing all others should enjoy the same.
We now lay our case at the feet of your Legislature & ask ask Your Honorable Body to consider it, and do for us after mature deliberation, that which your wisdom, patriotism and Philanthropy may dictate.— And we as in duty bound will ever pray

Agreeable to appointment— the standing High Councellors met, when it was found that several were absent, who, (some of them,) have had to flee for their lives, therefore it being necessary that those vacancies be filled the meeting was called for that purpose, and, also, to express each others feelings respecting the word of the Lord.

The Council was opened by prayer by
After prayer made a few remarks saying he thought it all important to have the Council reorganized, and prepared to do buisness.
He advised the councellors to be wise and judicious in all their movements and not [p. 173]
